The HEAVY DUTY filter element consists of 8 layers of aluminum commercially known as 3003-H14, .025 thickness expanded to .050 strand. The front layer of expanded is extra rigid to give additional strength to the filter. The frame is made from sheet aluminum, .040 thickness joined by heavy rivets at one corner. This heavy Aluminum filter will retain 585 grams of dust per 2.25 sq. ft. (20x20 filter) of filter area. Resistance when clean is .077 w.g. at 350 FPM air velocity. Maximum temperature range of the Smith HEAVY DUTY is 275 degrees F. The HEAVY DUTY Aluminum filter is designed for extra rugged use in high capacity heating and air conditioning units, plus other applications where a rugged aluminum filter is required.
